Free energy advice for micro-enterprises
The climate change mitigation activities of the non-profit Bremer Energie-Konsens GmbH are being expanded in the project Bremen’s companies save CO2. The new programme taps additional carbon-reduction potential in line with the aims of the ERDF programme. The focus of the project is on small and medium-sized enterprises, which tend not to make as much use of the existing services as other companies. Even small companies can save plenty of energy if they have specific information about energy efficiency measures and are shown how to implement them.
In this project, Bremer Energie-Konsens GmbH aims to provide at least 200 companies in the State of Bremen with information and advice about potential energy savings and energy efficiency. The findings are also to be made easily accessible to other companies, so that more firms are encouraged to act in a climate-friendly manner.
In one of the three work packages, the project manager offers energy visits to micro-enterprises in Bremen and Bremerhaven. Also, four additional efficiency roundtables aim to develop synergies in companies for climate change mitigation.
The climate change mitigation not only cuts carbon emissions, but also results in a reduced need in the companies for energy generated from fossil fuel. It also cuts the companies’ operating costs and helps to modernise the commercial facilities in the State of Bremen.
