The main focus of the work to market the Hemelingen district is support for the local economy and better networking of the five subdistricts of Hastedt, Sebaldsbrück, Hemelingen, Mahndorf and Arbergen.
To this end, a sizable event takes place annually in each subdistrict, partly funded by the ERDF – including the Sommerfest Schlossparkbad (Schlosspark swimming pool summer festival) in Bremen-Sebaldsbrück and the Bremer Badewannenregatta (Bremen bathtub regatta) in Bremen-Mahndorf.
The most important event is the annual trade show which takes place each September. A blend of a local trade fair and a family funfair, this event is firmly anchored in the commercial, social and cultural life of the district. Local small and medium-sized businesses attach especial importance to it.

In addition to these events, a special district newspaper is produced, appearing 2 to 3 times a year. This newspaper aims to inform the residents about the activities of the district marketing team and to strengthen people’s sense of identification with their district.
